Moments That Matter: From Goodyear Blimps to Heartfelt Hugs
A Father’s Day Tribute to Making Every Moment Count
When was the last time when you were present…really present for something other than work?
Work can always be there. Far too often, we make time for it over everything else.
We have moments, not minutes, in our lifetime.
On this Father's Day, I'm grateful to my dad for creating moments like the one in the photo or for spending quality time with us, sharing stories and pictures from his travels to Europe and tours in Vietnam. And for those pre-bedtime hugs while telling me he loved me 🖤
I don't know how many moments I have left with my dad. He has outlived his parents, grandparents, youngest son, and thousands of Black men who served in Vietnam. At the same time, I don't know how many moments I have left.
Moments are all we have. The longer I live, the more I've come to cherish moments.
But how do you make time for moments? The same way you make time for anything else in your life. It's a choice.
🖤 Make quality moments with friends, family, loved ones.
☎ Send the text or call the moment they cross your mind.
✨ Do the thing to experience a moment on your joy list.
What moment will you make time for this week?
Are You Aware?
June is Men's Health Awareness Month in the USA.
60% of men go to the doctor yearly for regular check-ups
40% won't go until something is seriously wrong
More staggering: "The overall mortality rate is 41 percent higher for men than women, and it's higher for men for 8 out of 10 leading causes of death—including heart disease, cancer, stroke and diabetes."
